Building a Legacy: Developing a Strong School Brand Name

Building a foreign language school’s brand name involves more than just coming up with a catchy name—it’s about establishing a strong, clear identity that resonates with your target audience and communicates your values, strengths, and unique offerings.

This panel brings together three distinct yet interconnected perspectives to explore how education is transforming in the face of new challenges and opportunities.
From the personal journey of transitioning from teacher to edupreneur, to the multiple roles a school owner is called upon to play to reinforcing a school’s brand identity, each session offers a unique lens on the educational experience.

Moderator: George Drivas, Teacher Trainer and Author

Nikos Dellas, FLS Owner, Chronos School, Athens: Entrepreneurship in Greece
My journey from a teacher to an entrepreneur
What it’s like to go from a classroom teacher to running your own business? In this session, Nick will share his story—the highs, the lows, and everything in between. From the spark that started it all to the challenges along the way (and the lessons he learned the hard way), this is a no-filter look at how he turned his love for teaching into a business.

George Lanis, FLS Owner, Volos
Defining the Brand Core
This is the foundation of my brand identity.
Mission: Why does my language school exist?
E.g., “To empower learners through cultural and linguistic fluency.”
Vision: What future do I want to create?
E.g., “To be the most trusted language learning hub in my area.”
Values: What principles guide my work?
E.g., cultural respect, learning excellence, inclusion, innovation.

Yulie Sklia, FLS Owner, Chalkida
A school owner typically plays multiple roles: leadership, management, financial oversight, human and teaching resources, marketing and public relations, teacher development, counseling, community engagement to name just a few.
In smaller schools, a single owner might juggle most of these roles personally. In larger institutions, these responsibilities may be delegated, but the owner remains ultimately accountable for the school’s success and integrity.

Each panelist will talk for 12 minutes. It is highly recommended to share personal experiences. Incorporating personal experiences engages the audience and provides actionable insights. There will be 15 minutes left for Q&A
