Πόσο εύκολη είναι η διαχείριση κρίσεων θυμού, επιθετικότητας και παραβατικής συμπεριφοράς των εφήβων;

These strategies collectively foster a dynamic, supportive environment that enhances early language development and cultivates enthusiasm for learning.

Puppets in early learning contexts
Puppets come in multiple forms and bring numerous benefits to early learners. Whether in finger, stick, sock, glove, hand or shoulder form, puppets - self-made or purchased- prove to be helpful class friends and language assistants. Our session will be on how to animate inanimate performing objects. We will experience how puppets used to create interactions and meaningful contexts in class activities bring new dynamics in the learning process and help model language, behavior and values. Ultimately, learners watching puppets come alive, in role of the character and personality given to them, are magnetized, fully focused and involved.
Puppets are a great resource to align creativity, arts, crafts, inspiration and humor in language teaching. Children’s concentration is unwavering when they watch the puppets move, retell, take part in games. Not only is listening and speaking supported when kids try out their English with the puppets but learning experiences are created and feelings of friendship are nurtured.
EMPOWERING EFL EDUCATION: CLIL AND BEYOND BY MACMILLAN
11:10 - 11:55 JULIE WALLIS - MACMILLAN EDUCATION
CLIL - Clilling me softly
CLIL is that it is very much a humanistic, educational approach – by which I mean an approach where it is not only learning the content and the language, which is important, but the learner’s development as a whole. And this involves not only learning Content and language (or Communication in CLIL terms) but also developing the ability to think – developing cognitive skills, such as Critical thinking, which are usually divided into Lower Order Thinking skills and Higher Order Thinking skills. CLIL’s fourth C is Culture or Context – developing the learner’s understanding of their place in and their effect on the community – whether that community is seen as the classroom, the school, the local town, Italy, the European Union or the world. In this presentation I will look at the positive impact CLIL has on education.
12:00 - 12:40 MARIA DIAVATI - MACMILLAN EDUCATION
Metamorphosis: Evolving CLIL for Metaskill Mastery
This 30-minute session will delve into the innovative realm of MetaCLIL, a dynamic adaptation of Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) aimed at fostering metaskill mastery in students. The presentation will explore the theoretical foundations of metaskills and their significance in modern education while examining how MetaCLIL can offer a unique approach to integrating language and content while explicitly targeting the development of critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills. Practical examples and classroom strategies will be shared to provide actionable insights into implementing MetaCLIL techniques, empowering students for success in academic and real-world contexts. Embark on this transformative journey to unlock the full potential of CLIL through metaskill development. Together we will explore the innovative MetaCLIL approach, empowering students to become self-aware, reflective, and strategic learners, ready to thrive in the challenges of the 21st century.
